Employer
This look-up allows the selection of the company associated with the Attendance Plan. The Employer Maintenance allows management of information for multiple Employers. Each Employer is identified with a unique Employer code that is assigned when adding the Employer to the system. LightWork uses this code to store and access information.
The Enterprise/Global Company (the associated ID is normally "***") groups Employers together and handles them as one. Enterprise is not an Employer, even though it appears in a list of Employers on the system. The Enterprise has no Employees, but it does help establish standards for all the Employers in the system.
Think of the Enterprise as "Corporate" encompassing all Employers under a single umbrella. There can only be one Enterprise in the system, but there can be numerous Employers.
When setting up Employers, there can be specified different sets of specifications for each Employer. The Enterprise feature helps in two ways; it saves time because it allows users to manipulate several Employers' data at one time rather than working with individual Employers to complete identical tasks one at a time and all the information from all Employers is available when viewing data or printing reports. -
Decimal Precision
The precision value defines how many decimal points the system uses when showing numerical amounts. While the default is zero decimal places, Administrative Users can change it to anything between 0-6 points of precision. -
Override Fiscal Year Start & Date
The Fiscal Year is the twelve-month period that a company chooses as its year for accounting purposes. Sometimes, companies change their reporting periods. A company may switch from calendar year reporting to fiscal year reporting, or shift their fiscal year reporting, to align with peers, appear more attractive to investors, and ease pricing demands from customers. A Fiscal Year is not necessarily the same as a calendar year. From the Attendance Module Options Maintenance, Users can select to override the Fiscal Year start by selecting the checkbox and designating the Override Fiscal Year Date in the calendar selector. Otherwise, the system will default to the value configured under the Employer Maintenance under the Fiscal Start field.
Fiscal Year is one of the options available for selection within the Attendance Plan Maintenance for a Plan Year. An Attendance Plan’s Plan Year can be Annual, Fiscal, or Anniversary. Annual would align with the calendar year starting on January 1st to December 31st. The Anniversary would start on a calculated or overridden date value to the date before the following year, every year, or Fiscal Year as configured originally at the Company-level or overridden value configured. -
